Senior Paediatric Speech Pathologist to head up our new SP Department Little Buds Occupational Therapy – Beaconsfield VIC
Speech Pathologist ready to take their career to the next level

Bring your experience and a desire to be a leader, and join our team of paediatric OTs while you establish our Speech Pathology Department.
Predominantly mobile (South East suburbs) with in-clinic opportunities. Clinic located in Beaconsfield, Victoria 3807. Supportive team with individual mentoring and supervision. WHAT MAKES THIS JOB FANTASTIC?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced (5+ years) Speech Pathologist to join our wonderful team of OTs. This role is suited for someone who is happy to grow with the role and step into a supervisory position as the opportunity develops. It is initially client-based with 5 clients per day for four days per week and one admin day to help develop the role and grow our team of Speechies, with our Director. As the team grows, the role will become split between some client work (3 days per week) and some Clinical Team Leader responsibilities (supervision and mentoring) 2 days per week. You will be provided with internal supervision as well as your own discipline-specific external supervision, to help you feel supported and to allow you to grow your leadership skills. You will be nurtured and cultivated to become your best self and encouraged to live your best life, as you support our clients and our team to become and be the same.
WHO ARE WE?
Little Buds OT is a private paediatric (0-18 years) occupational therapy service, now in our 13th year. We have a team of 5 OTs, 3 Therapy Assistants, a Practice Manager and admin support, all led by our founder and director, Kat Peters (Senior OT). Our small, supportive team strongly values clinical growth, professional development, and innovation, as our aim is to be exceptional clinicians. We have created a close-knit team by providing support and by truly caring about each other. We have developed a high-quality service by investing back into our team, facilities, and resources.
Collaborating and working closely with other local allied health providers is an absolute passion of ours. We are ready to take this to the next level by becoming a multidisciplinary practice, starting with building our own Speech Department.
A Little Buds therapist is Honest , Compassionate , and Driven , believing that helping children is their calling and that their skills, knowledge, compassion, and ability to connect have the potential to change lives. Our vision is to nurture every child to blossom and every clinician to be exceptional. If you feel the same way, then we encourage you to read on.
OUR LOCATION
We are a predominantly mobile practice, servicing the South East suburbs of Beaconsfield, Berwick, Pakenham, Clyde, Cranbourne, Hallam, Narre Warren, etc. Our work is mostly out in the community (homes, kindergartens, schools), with some clinic sessions and in-clinic groups. Our newly renovated clinic is located in beautiful Beaconsfield and is available every day for clinicians to use in between clients, when they have a cancellation, for team meetings, supervision sessions, and for connection with the team. One day a week is a dedicated admin day to allow for team bonding, time to catch up with our colleagues and learn from each other, bounce off ideas, organise our week, create resources, research interventions, write reports, and celebrate our wins and special days.
THE ROLE
We work in a strength-based developmental nature and we use the DIR Floortime model to guide our practice.
In this role you will:
Work with a varied paediatric caseload (children from birth to adolescence) in a variety of community-based settings. Conduct assessments and provide therapy to meet the needs of children no matter what difficulties or challenges they present with, all the while supporting their families too. Be supported to create and run groups to meet the needs of our clients and our community. Build a team of Speechies, by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, training, supervision, and mentoring, as the team grows. Run an equivalent version of our OT Spectacular 12-month New Graduate program for the Speechies you support. In addition to the above, we also offer:
Flexible working hours & Reasonable KPIs: we understand that everyone is different and has different working styles and responsibilities, and therefore we are open to flexible working hours as well as offering two Personal Well-being Days per year to minimise burn out. Mentoring: ongoing structured support, internally as well as external discipline specific, tailored to suit your skill level and experience. Supervision: individual clinical and group peer supervision. Doing joint client visits with other team members is an integral part of how we learn at our practice. During this time you can observe how our OTs work and offer valuable feedback to each other. Office Day (no clients) one day a week: allows all of our therapists a balance between clinical work and other duties. It also helps us all feel more connected and supported. Travel: paid travel time and paid mileage for the use of your car between client appointments. Professional Development: ongoing support to meet your CPD requirements based around your needs and interests, with a generous PD budget. Family Friendly: we encourage a work-life balance. Social: A fun and flexible working environment, with catch ups and team building days. Salary: generous remuneration based on skills, qualifications and experience, plus superannuation and leave. The details of the complete Remuneration Package will be discussed at interview. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Must have completed a Speech Pathology degree and have at least 5 years full-time work experience. Full registration as a Speech Pathologist with AHPRA. Leadership experience or a desire to be a leader/supervisor/mentor to other Speech Pathologists. Professional indemnity & Public Liability insurance. Current Driver's License and reliable car. Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check. Fun, friendly and reliable with a passion to make a difference in children's lives.
