As the Product Owner for our Content Management System (CMS), you will be pivotal in translating the product vision and stakeholder needs into tangible solutions, driving the successful delivery of product features and enhancements.
Reporting to the Product Manager, you will be responsible for managing the product backlog, prioritizing tasks based on business value, and acting as the primary liaison between the development team and stakeholders, including content operations, translators, and external services such as Twilio and SendGrid.
In this role, you will focus on delivering customer-centric solutions by refining user stories, leading sprint planning, and ensuring alignment with the overall product strategy.
A key aspect of your responsibility will include staying up-to-date on regulatory changes in the communications space, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance across all customer communication channels.
What will your day look like?Manage and prioritise the product backlog in alignment with the overall product strategy and stakeholder requirementsCollaborate with the Product Manager to define product deliverables and communicate progress to the wider teamWork closely with the engineering team, ensuring clarity on product requirements and supporting them throughout the sprint processWrite clear and concise user stories, ensuring acceptance criteria are well definedConduct sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups to facilitate agile processesAct as a primary point of contact for the development team, clarifying any questions or issues regarding user storiesEnsure delivered features meet business goals and stakeholder expectations by participating in regular sprint reviews, stakeholder meetings and retrospectivesCollaborate with stakeholders (Product and non-tech stakeholders) to ensure successful execution of key initiativesAssist in exploratory data analysis, gathering customer and stakeholder insights to guide product enhancementsTrack, document and report on product performance, sharing regular updates with internal teams and stakeholdersWhat you will bring:3-5 years of experience in a product owner or similar role in an agile software development environmentStrong understanding of agile methodologies and hands-on experience with managing product backlogs and user storiesDemonstrated experience working closely with engineering teams to deliver high-quality software productsExperience with working with diverse stakeholders, ensuring solutions are built to solve real-world problemsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to clearly articulate complex ideasAbility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve business goalsStrong analytical skills with experience in exploratory data analysis using tools such as SQL or Big QueryBachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent work experienceDemonstrated passion for digital products, user experience, and agile development practicesExperience working in fast-paced environments, ideally within a high-growth tech startup or global internet companyProven track record of delivering product features on time and with measurable business impactTo help us level up you will have:Strong sense of ownership and accountability over product deliveryHighly organised with exceptional attention to detailAbility to work effectively under pressure and within tight timelinesCollaborative and open-minded, with a positive approach to change and process improvementDriven by results, with a "good enough is not enough" mentalityStrong sense of urgency, ensuring issues are addressed in a timely mannerAble to balance competing priorities and navigate stakeholder expectationsPassion for driving product success and customer satisfaction.Cover Genius not only cares about being the best in our industry, we care about our team.
