Mental Health Practitioner- Wellbeing Specialist

Fixed Term Contracts until June 2026 Footprints Community is a well-regarded not-for-profit provider of community-based services, working in the community for over 30 years.
We specialise in working with older people, those that experience disability, mental illness, as well as those who are at risk of homelessness.
About the PositionMental Health Professionals at the Medicare Mental Health Centre are vital roles focused on providing high quality, person-led mental health services.
They will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver therapeutic interventions, wellbeing coaching and support to individuals and their families, experiencing a range of mental health challenges.
Footprints Community is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Professional to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention to individuals, families, and groups.
This role is vital in supporting the mental and emotional well-being of our clients, ensuring they receive the care and support needed to improve their quality of life.
About YouA recognised tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Occupational Therapy or a related field.Current registration with relevant professional bodies (e.g., AHPRA, ACA, PACFA).Minimum of 3 years of experience in a counselling role, preferably within a mental health setting.Demonstrated experience in conducting mental health assessments and providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions.Strong understanding of mental health issues, treatment modalities, and community resources.Experience working with people's mental health and well-being, leading to the provision of inclusive and high-quality therapeutic services, with a solution and change-based focus.Alignment with a Lived Experience practice framework.Strong networks and knowledge of local support services which people may be referred to.Strong knowledge of the mental health system, government policy and legislation, and professional standards and codes of ethics as they pertain to working with people and their mental health.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other professionals in a multi-disciplinary team, as well as consult, liaise and work with a wide range of external stakeholders involved in the provision of health, mental health, and psychosocial services to people.Ability to work independently, with strong organisational and time management skills.Highly developed interpersonal communication and decision-making skills, coupled with the ability to involve other staff actively and appropriately, clients, their families, and significant others in the delivery of service where appropriate.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.National Workers Screening check or current Yellow Card.Blue Card - working with children.Benefits of joining Footprints:Attractive remuneration with generous salary sacrifice benefits.Opportunities for ongoing professional development and training.A committed and friendly teamwork environment.For further information please contact Chris Trupp, Manager - Medicare Mental Health Centres on .
