We also build great homes and communities where people and businesses can thrive, catering for different budgets, lifestyles, and people - designed to be sustainable and affordable.Job DescriptionYour New RoleReporting to the Group Head of Housing, this newly created role is a key position within Development Victoria's Senior Leadership team.
You will be responsible for establishing the delivery strategy for and leading all aspects of a multi-decade project focused on delivering primarily greenfield housing opportunities across Victoria, aligned with the priorities of the Victorian Government's Housing Statement.This unique career opportunity includes working with senior stakeholders across government and the private sector to develop the delivery strategy, establish the project, and implement the strategy to achieve diverse housing outcomes.Make a meaningful impact by delivering results that will benefit the Victorian community now and for generations to come.Please note: This is a standard executive contract with a maximum term of five years.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish and lead a new project aligned with the Victorian Government's Housing Statement to deliver housing outcomes for the community.Shape and execute a comprehensive delivery strategy while collaborating with senior stakeholders across government and the private sector.Inspire and manage a multidisciplinary team to achieve project outcomes within budget, time, and quality targets.Promote innovative and sustainable housing solutions that balance policy goals and commercial feasibility.Build strong relationships with local councils, Traditional Owners, government agencies, and community stakeholders to drive success.Provide expert policy and strategic advice to senior management and ministers, including the negotiation of significant outcomes where there are divergent views and conflicting agendas.Work across the organisation (including the Housing, Civic Infrastructure, Precincts, Origination, Operations, Advisory and Communication and Engagement groups) to plan the projects, achieve government support and deliver the projects within a commercial framework and consistent with committed government policy outcomes.Contribute to the Leadership Team in the development of organisation-wide strategies, budgets, policies, and culture to ensure the achievement of organisational goals and financial objectives.Promote and represent Development Victoria as a market leader in the development of innovative, sustainable, and commercially responsible housing outcomes, reinforcing our unique and important role as government's developer.Desired Skills and ExperienceAbout YouThe role requires a candidate with experience leading a team, managing complex and innovative housing projects commercially and in line with organisational goals and objectives and Government policy.This will require:Tertiary degree or higher qualification in property, construction, architecture, design, engineering, project management or related fields.Dynamic and inspiring team leadership.A proven track record in the timely establishment of strategy and delivery of greenfield housing projects spanning land development, house and townhouse construction and medium density apartment delivery.Navigating complex construction and property markets and working collaboratively and innovatively to deliver tangible value for money outcomes.An understanding of state and local government economic, planning, and other policy drivers, including the Victorian government's Housing Statement, and their impact on successful delivery of housing projects.Working with a broad range of stakeholders to deliver housing outcomes with the right balance between policy outcomes and commercial delivery.Successful people, strategic and commercial management skills, consistent with organisational goals, objectives, and government policy.Employee BenefitsWe drive strong collaboration and support our teams to work virtually and flexibly.Study support.Opportunity to participate in cross-functional working groups that drive diversity and inclusion and sustainability initiatives.Novated leasing.Purchase leave.Paid parental leave.Technology salary sacrifice.Health & Wellbeing initiatives such as EAP and mental health and wellbeing leave.Access to group life & group salary continuance insurance.Modern onsite facilities.Application ProcessPlease apply via our careers page linked to this advertisement; applications will not be accepted via email.Please note: The preferred candidate will be required to complete a national police record check prior to an offer of employment being made.At Development Victoria, we work flexibly and value diversity, and we invite you to talk to us about any preferences or adjustments you may value or require to either our recruitment process or the role itself.
