Are you community-minded and up for a challenge?Then we are just the place to grow your career and be part of a valued team delivering care where it is needed most.An exciting opportunity is available for a Visiting Medical Officer - Psychiatry to join our service in the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network.We are looking for a qualified health care professional:Eligible for or current Registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Regulation Agency and Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or other specialist recognition as provided for in the State Award.Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in forensic psychiatry and general adult psychiatry, and where relevant, subspecialty experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (or willingness to work towards).Demonstrated thorough working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2007, the Mental Health (Forensic Provisions) Act 1990 and the Crimes Act 1900, particularly in relation to forensic and correctional patients.The Visiting Medical Officer will provide specialist assessment and ongoing care of patients with psychiatric disorders in correctional campuses and forensic settings administered by Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network in accordance with best evidence-based practice and organisational policies.Are we right for you?Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network is a state-wide specialty health network with a vision:We excel in patient-centred care across community, inpatient and custodial settings.
