HSS Recruitment is a market leading technical recruitment and labour hire company specialising in the delivery of high quality personnel to the Surface and Underground Mining, Oil & Gas, Resource, Haulage, Civil and Construction sectors.
We are seeking a results-driven Transport Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our clients' busy depot and fleet.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of daily operations, providing support where needed to ensure the smooth running of our transport and hire divisions.
This is a hands-on role, where you will be accountable for the safety, efficiency, and overall performance.
Key Responsibilities: Management of subcontractors works and costs Raising and receipting Purchase orders & completing end of month invoicing as required Rostering and timesheet approvals of direct reports and subcontractors Ensure compliance with Fatigue Management legislation Maintain chain of responsibility Monitor GPS Data software Report truck incidents and breakdowns Ensure compliance with all MRWA legislation, including obtaining necessary permits Complete performance reviews with staff Ensure Work, Health and Safety policies and procedures are followed Assist Asset Manager to assess the lifespan of machinery Key Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a transport management role.
Proven experience and success in a similar management role.
Understanding of specialized transport fleets and their operations.
Experience or qualification in load restraint with various and complex types of freight.
Proficiency with digital systems and strong computer literacy.
Knowledge of oversize transport, specialized wheeled machinery, heavy haulage routes, and MRWA permits is highly regarded.
Experience in managing and delivering on client expectations.
Experience supervising and leading a diverse team of fewer than 20 members.
A current forklift ticket is required.
Qualifications: Certificate IV in Business Management (desirable) Fatigue Management Chain of responsibility Valid MC Driver's License Valid WA White Card Valid HVA Drivers Medical Police clearance What we offer: Competitive remuneration - permanent contract
