Join a small, highly energised and collaborative team Manufacturers of mining and industrial parts while specialising in the design and manufacture of small to large gear drive systems for national and international customers Richlands - Brisbane location An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Draftsperson to join our engineering and design department on a full-time basis.
With over 100 years of experience within the engineering and gear manufacturing industries, Crown Engineering at Richlands, Brisbane, is a privately owned and operated company, and a leading supplier of products and services within the mining, mineral processing and energy sectors to a wide range of national & international customers.
Tasks & Responsibilities Designing products, jigs & fixtures for production/manufacturing departments; Reverse engineering and producing detailed manufacturing drawings of various mechanical parts; Checking and/or approval of drawings produced by the drafting team; Providing engineering support and documentation (including engineering change control, BOMs, mechanical design, work instructions, test procedures, verification and validation testing of design and manufacturing processes); Management and maintenance of the PDM system, control of design documentation and standardisation; Using AutoCAD LT and SolidWorks for design and drawings; Liaising with customers as required for drafting of products for customer orders and/or projects; Producing drawings in accordance with Crown (in-house) drafting standards; Implementing process change and continuous improvements to drafting systems; Prioritising your own workload and working as part of a team; Working closely with our drafting, engineering, production, and estimating teams; Willingness to travel occasionally to perform measurements, assessments, reporting, and evaluation at customer work sites or premises.
Skills and Experience Permanent, unrestricted Australian working rights; Proficiency in English; Diploma in drafting or relevant engineering degree is essential; Experience in AutoCAD LT and SolidWorks – modelling, drafting, and PDM management; Experience in the measurement and reverse engineering of all types of industrial products; Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; A highly motivated individual with a 'can-do' attitude; Current Australian driver's licence and own vehicle.
To be considered for this role, you will have at least 2 years of previous drafting experience in a similar manufacturing/workshop environment.
A preferred but not essential knowledge/understanding in gear data, design, and manufacture or a willingness to learn.
We are looking for somebody with an excellent track record in producing working drawings or models for manufacturing; possessing excellent interpersonal skills and strong time management skills, coupled with effective stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Salary will be commensurate with experience in the range of $80,000 to $105,000 plus superannuation.
