About the Role:
As the Head of Planting and Community Forest Operations, you'll lead the planning and execution of our landscape restoration and community forest projects.
This role involves a mix of operational oversight, project management, and hands-on leadership, where no two days are the same.
You'll be the driving force behind our projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage relationships across the board.
This role includes office-based tasks and fieldwork, with travel to regional and remote locations required.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of planting and community forest projects, from initial planning to implementation, ensuring objectives are met on time and within budget.Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with landholders, Indigenous Rangers, volunteers, contractors, and other partners to ensure smooth and collaborative project delivery.Site Monitoring: Coordinate the monitoring, evaluation, and maintenance of planting sites to ensure long-term success.Reporting: Prepare detailed reports documenting project progress and outcomes for internal teams, external stakeholders, and funders.Work Health & Safety: Implement safety protocols and ensure all team members and stakeholders follow established guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, commerce, horticulture, agronomy, agribusiness, agri-economics, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years experience in project management or operations, ideally in environmental restoration or carbon planting.Strong background in natural resource management, ecological restoration, or community-based forest projects.Valid driver's license (manual preferred).Key Skills and Knowledge:Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and manage various stakeholders.Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, ensuring seamless project management.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of native flora species, planting techniques, soil preparation, pest management, and restoration monitoring techniques.Understanding of natural resource management and environmental conservation practices.Desirable Skills:
