The role
As the Manager Projects, Legislation, and Policy, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for providing high-level advice to the Department and consulting with key stakeholders on the development of resource tenure policy and legislation.
Your work will at times take you to regional parts of the State, as well as to the seat of power in Parliament.
Responsibilities:
Lead policy and legislative projects.
Manage the preparation of ministerial responses, briefings, cabinet submissions, reports, policy statements, discussion papers, and other correspondence.
Liaise with the State Solicitor's Office, the Parliamentary Counsel's Office, and other external stakeholders on effective policy and legislation development.
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.
Minimum Requirements
Extensive experience in project management and policy development, analysis, interpretation, and implementation, preferably in the resource sector.
Extensive experience in providing high-level policy and legislative advice and communicating government policy position to stakeholders.
Extensive knowledge of legislation preferably relevant to the mining and petroleum industry, and the ability to manage legislative change arising from policy decisions.
