Meat Facility Operations Manager

Management (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) Full time Roger Drake opened his first supermarket in 1974.
Over 50 years later, Drakes Supermarkets has grown to become Australia's largest independent grocery retailer, with more than 60 stores across South Australia and Queensland.
Our commitment to quality extends beyond our stores to our state-of-the-art meat processing facility located in Beverley, recently expanded to double its size, allowing us to maintain rigorous quality standards for fresh, high-quality meat products.
About you: We're looking for a highly motivated Meat Facility Operations Manager who wants to be part of a business that is creating a legacy through continuous improvement.
Your role will involve providing overall strategic operational leadership of the meat facility, where adaptability is key in a rapidly developing environment.
About the opportunity: Oversee and ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all Meat Centre processes run smoothly.
Develop and mentor facility team members, promoting a culture of food safety.
Key Responsibilities: Overall management of the facilities meat production and delivery activities to exceed targets.Identifying opportunities for improved productivity, including product development and equipment utilization.Facilitate and lead continuous improvement projects across the business.Mentor and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Inventory control of stock forecasting and ordering to meet promotional and store requirements.Lead and maintain safety and regulatory compliance for the site.Skills and experience required for the role: Minimum 5 years running a meat production facility or equivalent role.Demonstrated understanding of HACCP practices.Tertiary qualification in production, manufacturing, engineering, or a relevant discipline.Lean and Six Sigma certification.What we offer you: Become a valuable part of a highly supportive and diverse work culture.
