The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) is Australia's independent expert regulator for health and safety, structural integrity, well integrity and environmental management for all offshore energy operations and greenhouse gas storage activities in Commonwealth waters, and in coastal waters where regulatory powers and functions have been conferred.

NOPSEMA also administers the functions of the Offshore Infrastructure Regulator (OIR), for the offshore renewables industry.
This includes the regulation of work health and safety, infrastructure integrity, and environmental management for offshore renewable energy infrastructure activities.

Working with NOPSEMA provides an opportunity to make a real difference to people working in Australia's offshore energy industry.

Applications are invited for Committee member positions for NOPSEMA's Audit & Risk Committee .

What is the Audit & Risk Committee?
The NOPSEMA Audit and Risk Committee is a statutory Committee that meets on a quarterly basis.
The Committee has been established to provide independent assurance and advice to the Accountable Authority on NOPSEMA's internal control mechanisms, financial and business risks, and compliance with its statutory obligations under the PGPA Act, PGPA Rules and Finance Minister's Orders.
In addition, the Committee provides a forum for communication between senior management and internal and external auditors.

Members of the Committee are appointed by NOPSEMA for a period of two years after which members may be reappointed for a period to be determined.

Who should apply?
NOPSEMA would like to hear from prospective applicants who can demonstrate the following attributes:
Good understanding of Commonwealth agency compliance with the PGPA Act/Government regulatory frameworks Good understanding of the oil & gas industry and energy sector Finance background and/or robust understanding of risk management Previous experience / participation in Audit & Risk Committee(s) Understanding of Corporate Governance frameworks How to apply?
