OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Mining Coal Metalliferous (Iron Ore, Lithium, Gold, Copper, Zinc & other metals) Power Generation, Energy & Utilities Water Ports, Wharfs & Waterways Chemical, Processing & Refineries Renewables Transport We have an exciting opportunity available to join the business as an Estimation Lead Engineer.
This position is based in our Cardiff NSW facility.
Key duties with this role will include:
Develop, interpret and analyse concept design drawings, technical specifications, scopes of works, bills of materials, and other relevant documents to support estimation processes.
Provide expertise and guidance on electrical systems, equipment selection, and installation methods.
Employ high-level technical problem-solving skills to minimize compliance issues and prevent delays.
Collaborate with the project execution team throughout various stages from design to manufacturing/FAT, providing necessary support and insights.
Engage with management, clients, consultants, and contractors to identify opportunities and address concerns effectively.
Lead and supervise the estimation team, ensuring cohesion and efficiency in operations.
Thoroughly examine tender data and client specifications to generate accurate estimates and quotes.
Produce project estimates and conduct detailed measurements to refine accuracy.
Assist the sales team with electrical estimating, particularly in control systems, MCCs, and field panels, while reviewing client tender specifications.
Ensure adherence to relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations to uphold quality and safety standards.
Foster a safety culture among project team members and subcontractors, prioritizing workplace safety at all times.
Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline 5+ years' Detailed Design & Estimation experience in LV Manufacturing Experience with and knowledge of major electrical switchgear manufacturers and supply channels to support project estimation.
Understanding of and proven experience in the Manufacture of Electrical Panels Demonstrated Commercial experience.
Strong understanding of Low Voltage power design and Standards (including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, AS/NZS 61439) Proven demonstration of CAD + Other Software Design Packages Ability to manage & complete continuous improvements.
Ability to manage a team.
Ability to work within a multi-discipline project & manufacturing environment.
High level communication and comfortable with client facing.
Understanding of estimation software and high-level skill with Microsoft Excel Workshop FAT & Testing Capability High level planning and organisational skills Benefits
