OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Metalliferous (Iron Ore, Lithium, Gold, Copper, Zinc & other metals) Materials Handling & Quarries Power Generation, Energy & Utilities Ports, Wharfs & Waterways We have an exciting opportunity available to join the business as an Electrical Design & Estimation Lead Engineer conducting and overseeing all Electrical & Mechanical design and estimation activities at Phoenix EMS.
This position is based in our Cardiff's facility.
Key duties with this role will include:
Development of detailed design drawings, technical specifications, scopes of work, instructions, Bill of materials and other documents required for projects Overseeing Electrical Engineers, Draftspersons & Supervisors Manage projects in various stages from design to manufacture/FAT Key liaison between Management, Client, Consultants and Contractors Project Design and Management Produce project estimates and perform detailed measurements Support sales team with electrical estimating (control systems, MCC's and field panels) and review of client tender specifications High level of technical problem solving, minimizing compliance issues, and preventing delays Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations Provide technical expertise and guidance on electrical systems, equipment selection, and installation methods Promote a safety culture among project team members and subcontractors Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline 7+ years' detailed design experience in LV Manufacturing Understanding of and proven experience in Design & Manufacture of Electrical Panels Demonstrated commercial experience Strong understanding of Low Voltage power design and standards (including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, AS/NZS 61439) Proven demonstration of CAD + other software design packages Ability to coordinate projects Ability to manage & complete continuous improvements Ability to manage a team & manufacturing schedule Ability to lead teams and work within a multi-discipline project environment High level communication and comfortable with client facing Understanding of scheduling & associated software Workshop FAT & testing capability High level planning and organisational skills Benefits:
