About the role
The School Improvement Team is seeking to appoint a Principal Advisor with current or previous Principal experience in a secondary school environment to provide strategic advice to Principals and Senior Leaders to inform, guide and embed the BCE school improvement process. This position will provide advice and drive capability building across BCE secondary schools. You will work collaboratively with secondary school Principals and Senior Leaders to contribute to the delivery of school improvement practices and review process in line with the BCE strategic priorities. As a committed practicing Catholic, you will have a deep understanding of the purpose and mission of the Catholic Church and Catholic Schools.
You will be accountable for analysing and reviewing school performance to provide Principals advice and recommendations for school improvements, as well as supporting them to implement changes.
To be successful in this role you will:
demonstrated high level ability to cultivate, sustain and influence effective relationships and change management with senior and middle leaders across a decentralised and complex organisation
demonstrated knowledge and understanding of professional practice, policies, legislation, initiatives, and current research in P-12 education at state and national levels
demonstrated track record on implementing effective school improvement processes/practices in a secondary environment
demonstrated knowledge of the School Improvement Tool
degree qualifications in Education, with post-graduate degree in Educational Leadership
demonstrated experience with change management skills: Implementing and communicating change
demonstrated ability leveraging other viewpoints and different experiences to solve issues and improve practices, facilitating the collective purpose and vision of the organisation
experience effectively and constructively challenging individuals about performance problems and keeping them accountable for their progress and achievement of goals
A demonstrated track record of recent achievement as a current principal of a primary, secondary or P-12 school.
All BCE employees will be:
eligible to work in Australia
Hold or be eligible to hold a Positive Notice Blue card working with children or current QCT registration
Have a commitment to Safeguarding
