Principal Advisor - Auslan - South East QueenslandEducation (Organisation site)South East Region, Early Childhood and State Schools DivisionThe Statewide Deaf and Hard of Hearing Service is seeking a qualified Teacher of the Deaf with strong Auslan skills to fill a leadership role as a Principal Advisor: Auslan in the South East Corner of the state.The role of Principal Advisor, Auslan is offered on a permanent full-time basis.The Department of Education is dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the community and schools we support by treating everyone with respect and dignity.About the RoleKey responsibilities include working with colleagues statewide to provide training and support around the education and pedagogy needed to teach Deaf children who use Auslan, including working with classroom teachers, school administrators, Teacher Aide: Auslan Language Models, Teacher Aide: Educational Interpreters, and teachers of the deaf in specialised programs.The successful candidate requires a qualification in Deaf Education and strong Auslan skills. Desirable qualifications include recent classroom experience, familiarity with DoE and DHHS policies, knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, and experience in leading project work.
