Compliance & Risk (Banking & Financial Services) Full time Ardea Investment Management was founded in 2008 as a specialist fixed income investment firm with offices in Sydney and London.
We are entrusted with managing +21bn AUD / 11bn GBP of assets on behalf of a diverse global client base, including some of the world's largest pension funds, global asset consultants and insurance companies.
Ardea is highly specialised in relative value investing across global interest rate markets and over +15 years, our investment process has proven to successfully navigate a wide range of market conditions, including numerous periods of market turmoil.
Summary This role is primarily responsible for oversight of investment risk within Ardea's independent risk management function, which also encompasses investment compliance and corporate risk / compliance.
This role also has the potential to encompass management responsibilities of existing team members overseeing investment compliance and corporate risk / compliance with room for growth.
Reporting directly to the CEO on a day-to-day basis, the role also maintains a direct reporting line to Ardea's Board of Directors to ensure independent oversight, accountability, and governance.
Key Responsibilities The Senior Risk Manager will play an essential independent oversight role to ensure that the investment risk exposures in Ardea's investment portfolios are consistent with Ardea's long established investment risk philosophy, processes, risk monitoring frameworks and investment compliance rules.
The role has the following key responsibilities:
Timely identification and appropriate escalation of breaches identified by the independent investment risk monitoring framework.Ongoing development of Ardea's monitoring framework for investment risk, including collaborating with our Research Function to independently review risk management tools and processes.Ensuring that Ardea's independent investment risk monitoring framework is well documented and clearly communicated to internal and external stakeholders.Ownership of producing performance and attribution data for Ardea's investment portfolios.Collaborating with our Research Function on monitoring of ESG related investment risks.Candidate Profile Candidates will ideally have some expertise and experience in the following areas: Portfolio construction (nuance of evaluating risk on standalone basis vs in a portfolio context).Fixed income performance and attribution.Candidates should also have: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Willingness and ability to learn quickly about other areas of the Risk Function.Diligence with attention to detail.A pragmatic problem solving mindset.A collaborative approach to work.The ability to balance strength of independent thought with intellectual humility. #J-18808-Ljbffr
