Principal Engineer

Based at our Newstead office ideally, however open to candidates across Australia with relevant experience, the Principal Engineer will directly support the Chief Engineer in undertaking their role, in particular by leading and participating in engineering projects and project components that require professional engineering oversight or input, and providing engineering advice/support to the Chief Engineer where necessary.Key responsibilities of this role are:Review complex engineering materials, develop complex engineering calculations, assessments or simulations that will support the building of engineering capability at the NHVR and the improvement of safety and productivity of the heavy vehicle industry.Provide specialist engineering advice to the Chief Engineer, and other areas of NHVR as required, on heavy vehicle safety and productivity matters.Support the delivery of complex heavy vehicle engineering projects, project components and the resolution of technical issues in collaboration with Directors, Managers and project staff.Advise on the application of heavy vehicle standards, modifications, manufacturers' specifications and Design Rules in accordance with both national and international standards.Provide leadership and direction to the team and contribute to their development and growth.Assist the Chief Engineer in ensuring that advice and engineering input to projects, initiatives and processes is complete, accurate and reflects best practice.About YouTo be successful in this role you will possess:4+ years of experience as a Principal Engineer within the heavy vehicle industryA Mechanical Engineer Degree & RPEQ registeredDemonstrated experience with DynamicsDemonstrated experience in planning and managing services, projects and tasks to establish a course of action for self and others to achieve specific objectives and deliver expected outcomes.We offer:A competitive salary package up to $154,103.11 + superannuationMonthly RDO and paid leave over Christmas closure.Hybrid working environment – up to 2 days from homeUp to 14.5% superannuation through a co-contribution schemeLeave loading 17.5%Wellbeing programs – discounted fitness through Fitness Passport, Discount health insurance, flu vaccine, financial programs including discounted banking products, finance information sessions.Salary packaging options including novated lease.Discounted IT products including Microsoft and free family password security plan.Ongoing training and professional development supportProfessional membershipApplication ProcessPlease apply with your CV and cover letter addressing the essential requirements of the role.Applications close: 26TH January 2025 (applications may close earlier than the listed closing date if suitable candidate/s are identified prior).In-person interviews to occur 6th, 7th & 10th February 2025Successful applicants will be required to complete standard pre-employment checks including a national police and work rights check.Please Note: We will not require any support from Recruitment Agencies at this time and kindly request no contact is made.
