About the Role The Specialist : People and Culture Services is responsible for a small team reviewing tasks and being the point of contact for matters that are escalated.
In this role, you will be required to perform tasks that include but are not limited to:
Providing guidance and support to employees and school support administrators on navigating various People and Culture related systems. Preparing, peer reviewing and processing various people-related transactions, including employee teacher registrations and pay rate classification, onboarding of employees, and reclassifying employee teacher pay rates based on qualification, employee movements and absence requests. Delivering training and coaching to team members. Acting as the lead by providing direction to team members on specific subject matter. Addressing stakeholder enquiries, complaints and service requests. Utilising knowledge of the relevant enterprise agreements and modern awards as well as relevant policies, procedures and guidelines to provide effective solutions to a range of enquiries. Processing various payroll transactions such as changes in superannuation, tax and other deductions and allowances, manual timesheets and supporting the management of under and overpayments as required. Preparing various statements, correspondence, contracts, letters and briefing notes, including offers of employment, higher duties letters, variation and extension letters, stand-down letters and probation letters. Processing various employee compliance checks and ensuring ongoing compliance including Working With Children Checks (WWCC) number status, NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation, working rights (VEVO) and references. Ensuring all work activities align with SCS' vision, mission, values and Capability Framework. Reporting all concerns regarding child safety and allegations of inappropriate conduct to the line. About You The successful candidate will also possess the following: Undergraduate degree or tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Human Resources Management or other relevant fields or minimum five years relevant industry experience, including two or more years as a payroll administrator. Previous experience in the education sector. Technology proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office and in use of online recruitment and Human Resources Information Systems, preferably Oracle PeopleSoft. Prior experience in a service-oriented, professional team. Experience working with varied and emerging technologies.
