About the Business Unit: Victim Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) is responsible for coordinating a suite of services for victims of crime, including information, support, and referral services.
The Helpline offers information and support to victims of crime and operates 7 days per week from 8am - 11pm.
About the Role: The Victim Support Worker plays a key role in ensuring high-quality service delivery for victim-survivors of family violence and victims of crime.
Some of your duties will include:
Acting as a first point of contact for enquiries to the Helpline by responding to calls, electronic referrals, and text messages. Providing trauma-informed case management and advocacy to victim survivors of family violence, ensuring their safety and well-being. Ensuring that all relevant work activities are accurately recorded in accordance with privacy legislative requirements and other relevant policies. About You: As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
At least two (2) years of paid practice experience in the family violence sector or a specialist family violence service and with victims of crime. Understanding of the Victims Support service system and associated legislation. Mandatory Qualifications: Mandatory minimum requirements: a Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent formal learning.
