Operating on the original mountain track from Belgrave to Gembrook, this century-old train offers a range of fun-filled experiences for visitors young and old.
A major tourist attraction, Puffing Billy Railway continues to be a popular destination for visitors, thanks to the tireless efforts of more than 350 volunteers and a team of dedicated staff.
About the Opportunity The position of Finance Manager is to take on a leadership role in the financial reporting and analysis that affects Puffing Billy Railway, providing strategic financial advice to senior management.
Reporting to the Acting Group Manager Business Services, this position oversees the overall accounting process, ensures legal financial compliance and plays a key role in developing and implementing financial procedures to improve and maintain the financial health of the organisation.
Based at Emerald, this is a 12 month fixed term full time position that will lead a small accounts management team.
We are seeking an immediate start.
Duties will include, but are not limited to: Execute the financial strategy of the organisationPreparation of financial accounts to meet regulatory and compliance requirementsAnalyse costs, pricing, revenue and actual performance against business plans and budgetsConduct financial reviews with Managers to determine opportunities on how to increase revenue, reduce costs and enhance procedures with the view to increase productivity while maintaining accountabilityManage financial controls, accounting standards and proceduresMaintain speed and accuracy of billing and client payments via the approved accounting software (Netsuite)Provide financial input for grant applications, as well as provision and management of the financial components once receivedOversee payroll processing (Employment Hero)About You This position would suit a skilled and experienced finance professional with a broad generalist accounting/finance management background who holds professional accounting qualifications.
You will be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing, with strong computer literacy skills.
You will have excellent time management and planning skills and enjoy collaborating and partnering with stakeholders to achieve effective financial outcomes.
In addition, you will have:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field5+ years' experience in a senior financial managerial positionPrevious experience working in government, not-for-profit and/or tourism sectors looked upon favourablyFor further information and a position description see our website www.puffingbilly.com.au/careers/.
