We are seeking interest from suitably qualified applicants for a Head of Department – General Medicine position.
You will have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in General and Acute Medicine.

We seek an experienced and enthusiastic Staff Specialist / Consultant who is passionate about practicing holistic general medicine, leading and mentoring medical staff, and contributing to quality improvement in a growing general medicine department.
State's largest hospital and major referral centre. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, it collaborates with the University and other institutions.
All the services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for consumers, the workforce, and the Tasmanian community. General medicine is the largest inpatient department in the hospital with excellent subspecialty support and opportunities for clinicians to be involved in research, clinical redesign, and quality improvement. Staff specialists are actively involved in the training of basic and advanced physician trainees and the supervision of international medical graduates.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of an evolving department and contribute to positive change in the Tasmanian health system. As Head of Department, you will have overall responsibility for the functioning of the department, directly reporting to the Clinical Director of Medical and Cancer Services.
Contribute to the provision of high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to public and private patients in General Medicine.
Contribute to the Department of General Medicine's afterhours and weekend roster.
Provide professional leadership to medical, nursing, and allied health staff and foster interdisciplinary teamwork.
