An outstanding opportunity exists at Sunshine Beach State High School for an educational professional to lead our Mathematics department with initiative and drive for supporting high quality student outcomes.
The role of Head of Department (Secondary) requires a strategic person to lead, monitor and develop curriculum and to engage students' passion for learning.
The successful candidate will oversee a dynamic team, and cultivate relationships with local communities, neighbouring schools and all stakeholders.
This role is offered on a full-time temporary basis from 23 January 2025 until 04 April 2025, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role As the Head of Department - Mathematics, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited, to the following:
Lead the school community in developing and committing to a shared vision focused on quality learning outcomes for all students;Set high standards for student and staff performance;Lead the Mathematics Curriculum at SBSHS, including V9 and 2025 QCAA Senior Subjects;Lead the QCAA Senior Mathematics processes;Lead & manage pedagogy within faculty classes;Lead the whole school numeracy plan;Instructional Leadership - Implementation of AIP including whole school strategies and department initiatives.Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.
