This large and very busy laboratory provides a full Anatomical Pathology service to several hospitals within the South West Sydney Local Health District including Liverpool, Fairfield, Campbelltown, Bankstown, Camden and Bowral hospitals as well as privately referred work.This full-time position is key to the continued provision of our Anatomical Pathology services.
Duties include supervising and performing all Immunohistochemistry testing, training of staff, quality control exercises, introducing new Immunohistochemistry techniques into the IHC laboratory when required, and possessing the knowledge and experience in In-situ Hybridisation techniques.What we can offer youAccrued Days Off in addition to Annual LeaveGenerous salary packaging options and other fringe benefitsCorporate wellbeing programs, including the Fitness PassportLearning and development opportunities, including in-house training with RTO My Health LearningWhat you'll be doingThis position is responsible for delivering a range of operational Immunohistochemistry laboratory activities including the coordination and provisions of scientific and technical training and the ongoing review, development and quality management of laboratory practices to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures, quality standards and continual process improvement.
You will be asked to perform a range of laboratory investigations and tests (manual and automated) and scientific/technical tasks by applying established methods and procedures, as directed.
You will also be asked to undertake other laboratory duties including preparation of materials and the maintenance of equipment in line with established laboratory processes, procedures and protocols.
If you are successful for an interview, you will be asked to demonstrate your supervisory/theoretical/practical experience in Immunohistochemistry as well as your computer skills associated with laboratory information systems and other computer programs that will assist you to complete your tasks in this position.Interested in joining Australia's largest public pathology service?
