Having commenced high-grade underground mining and processing plant refurbishment activities, the aim is to be pouring gold at Paulsens by the end of 2024.Most importantly, we are building a strong team of highly engaged and motivated individuals, who are committed to building a positive and fun workplace culture making Black Cat a great company to work forWe're looking for Production Engineers who are not afraid of a challenge and are passionate about making a difference to be part of the Paulsens Underground Mine Start UpWorking in collaboration with the Senior Mine Engineer and Alternate UG Manager, you will be responsible for the short-term mine schedule, mine designs, production plans, and production reporting in support of the UG mine production activity.About the OpportunityKey accountabilities of the position are to:Prepare accurate and achievable short-term drilling, blasting and ancillary weekly mine plans and schedules.Ensure information regarding the plans and schedules are communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders.Stimulate discussion and gather feedback in various formats, to ensure plans capture areas of concern or bottlenecks and mitigation steps to manage.Enter production and development activities data into the mine production database and validate the data.Undertake stope performance assessments for each stope and back analyse to ensure continuous improvement in drilling and blasting plans, designs and controls.Reconcile the daily and weekly mine plan, ensuring alignment with the monthly mine plan.Support Senior Engineer with ventilation statutory activities.About YouWe are seeking a positive and motivated 'can do' individual with adaptive thinking, who enjoys autonomy in their role with an ability to prioritise, analyse and problem solve who has the following:Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or equivalent.Experience in underground mining, preferably gold, in a production engineer position with exposure to various mining methods and mine engineering; short term scheduling, drill and blast and mine ventilation.User of mine planning and scheduling software packages preferably Deswik (CAD and UGDB).Ability to work collaboratively, and with a diverse range of people across all levels who understand we are all in this together.Working in a collaborative manner, with an expectation to have fun along the way, the Mining Underground Team will together, optimize development, grade and productivityAt times you may be involved in something new and different, providing you with opportunities to learn and grow, be a team player and support site priorities.Being part of the inaugural team means you will be exposed to many aspects of the Company so as we grow, you growBlack Cat is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace that is representative of the wider community and building an organisation which provides equal opportunities for all its employees.We expect all our Employees to display a clear commitment to safety, the environment and social responsibility and to actively demonstrate values found within our Code of Conduct in day-to-day interactions with employees, contractors, and the communities in which we operate.Black Cat Syndicate offers a competitive salary along with opportunities for career progression, great working environment and a family friendly lifestyle.If you are ready for a challenge, and to be part of a motivated and dynamic team, we would love to hear from you.
