Job Description - Senior Claims Specialist, Marine (78006375D20241121) Senior Claims Specialist, Marine Sydney, NSW
This is a regulated role under the Central Bank of Ireland's Fitness and Probity regime. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the Marine portfolio and collaborating with key stakeholders, driving value and benefit, work closely with your manager, fellow claims handlers, practice leaders, and product underwriters, and achieve the best possible outcomes for AXA XL and its clients by resolving and settling claims proactively.
What will your essential responsibilities include? Proactively manage Marine Claims in accordance with AXA XL's Claim Handling Principles.Using strong technical skills, handle the complex and challenging claims within authority level and specialization.As a claim file owner, collaborate with Claims Product Manager and Practice Leaders on large and complex losses to achieve optimum file outcome for the client and AXA XL, identify Large Losses and ensure all steps are taken to achieve the best outcome for the client and AXA XL (including those claims within authority level).Proactively manage expenses through thoughtful expense management and claims best practice.Active participant in Quality Review Process.Assist Underwriters with policy review and drafting, participate in external marketing and business development activities. Share lessons learned and other identified trends to improve risk assessment and underwriting process.Coordinate and manage communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the highest level of customer service and transparency.Produce internal reporting in support of best practice and reserving guidelines.Effectively manage, track and report on portfolio performance.Coach less experienced colleagues and be a role model in best practices.We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills: Extensive claims or similar professional experience essential.Strong communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, presentation and influencing skills. Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of sophistication. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and efficiently juggle numerous concurrent responsibilities.Collaborative approach: Develop and maintain productive working relationships with insured, brokers, claim handlers, underwriters and legal counsel. Provide guidance and seek input from others as needed to achieve the best result possible. Capable of working and collaborating with a virtual team.Results Oriented: Approach tasks proactively and anticipate needs. Think quickly and prioritize multiple work streams without sacrificing quality. Act with a sense of urgency.Continuous Improvement Focused: Willing to ask questions and explore new ideas.
