Position Summary The position summary is to provide individual and group instruction to students as part of an extracurricular instrumental music program. Responsibilities include teaching music theory, aural skills, and practical techniques, as well as preparing students for external examinations. The tutor will motivate students, maintain communication with colleagues and parents, and stay updated on examination requirements. Additionally, if directed, the tutor may assist in conducting and coordinating school choirs, bands, or musical ensembles. In addition to tutoring instrumental sessions, the tutor may be involved in ensemble work, classroom music instruction, and assisting with music performances throughout the year. Accurate record keeping, assessment, and reporting in accordance with established protocols are important aspects of this role. The tutor will collaborate with the Arts, Music Department, and the wider Music and Performing Arts team. They will actively participate in the school community, events, and activities, with a focus on the Music and Performance programs. Reporting to the Performing Arts Director, the tutor will contribute to achieving team-based goals and provide a high standard of service to support the school's functions and programs.
