QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government.
It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role: You will play a pivotal role in supporting QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by providing exceptional advice on building related procurement protocols and contracts and to coordinate the development, preparation and implementation of several contracts.
This position is hybrid, including working from a QBuild office and working from home.
There will be some travel required for this role.
Key responsibilities: Providing high level, expert advice on a broad range of building and maintenance procurement methodologies and forms of contracts and project procurement options to internal and external customers.Taking responsibility for briefing and DHLGPPW Contract Services in relation to the maintenance and upgrading of existing contract and standing offer arrangements documents suite, the development of new contract and standing offer arrangement documentation on an as required basis.Liaising and negotiating effectively with relevant internal and external stakeholders on matters affecting the construction and maintenance operations of QBuild and its clients, maintaining current awareness of the expectations and mood of the tender market and suitability and acceptance of QBuild tender and contract format.Maintaining awareness of industry best practice and taking responsibility for ensuring that QBuild procurement and contract management documentation reflect best practice.Providing expert advice on legislative and regulatory frameworks and government policies applicable to government procurement of building projects in Queensland, specifically in relation to the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act, Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act and security of payment legislation generally.Providing expert advice and high-level strategies to assist in the resolution of disputes to prevent escalation to the Principal under the construction contracts.Required Skills and Experience: Current Driver LicenceSubstantial experience with contract administration, agreements, and service maintenance contractsAbility to provide advice about complex issues and train a range of staff.How do I apply?
