This role involves collaboration with, and at times leadership of, the People and Culture team to ensure effective service delivery and the achievement of both People and Culture and organisational objectives within a multi-disciplinary environment. Additionally, the position works closely with the Learning and Organisational Development team to embed and advance our organisational development initiatives.
What's involved Provide specialist advice, to P&C Business Partners and managers on interpretation of relevant Legislation, Industrial Instruments & employment contracts, policies and procedures etc.Consult and support P&C Business Partners and managers in relation to grievances and disciplinary issues including performance and/or conduct, and lead in case of complex investigations.First point of contact and intermediary for line managers and employees of nominated departments.Assist with the implementation of Austal's Industrial Relations Strategy.Assist the P&C Manager with the development and administration of all Austal's strategies, policies, procedures, and programs relating to P&C.Facilitate and support managers with Austal's people & culture cyclical activities including but not limited to performance review program, succession planning, talent review, workforce planning, etc.In consultation with external advisors, assist in the negotiation and implementation of Austal Enterprise Agreements.In consultation with external advisors, assist with industrial disputes, unfair dismissal applications, and disciplinary appeals.You'll need Essential Degree qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related field, minimum bachelor's levelMinimum 7-years' experience in a similar roleExtensive knowledge of employment law and industrial relations legislation including interpreting and applying a range of industrial instrumentsExperience developing and implementing people related policies and proceduresCoaching skills at both an organisational and individual levelDemonstrated ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholdersExperience undertaking workplace investigation, making sound judgments, and assisting in solving complex problemsStrong written and verbal communication skills, including well developed negotiation and influencing capabilitiesDesirable 3-years' experience in a similar role within the construction or related industryEnterprise agreement negotiations and implementation experienceAn understanding of project management methodologyAdvocacy experience before industrial tribunalsWhy Austal Competitive compensation and benefits package.Professional development and training opportunities.A supportive and dynamic work environment.Our global team is guided by a universal set of values that describe the focus of our efforts.
