$81,614 to $90, 691 pa (HEW 5) Ongoing, Full time, Mount Lawley Campus Open to candidates with relevant work rights SCHOOL OF ARTS AND HUMANITIES $81,614 to $90,691 P.A (HEW 5) PLUS 17% SUPERANNUATION ONGOING, FULL TIME POSITION MT LAWLEY /CITY CAMPUS  ECU STAFF ONLY OVERVIEW The Specialist Technical Services Team within the School of Arts & Humanities delivers specialised technical support to students and staff, with a focus on providing a safe, effective, customer-focused service that ensures compliance with relevant Work, Health and Safety regulations, and aligns with both school and university strategic and operational goals.
THE OPPORTUNITY  As the Senior Technical Officer, reporting to the Senior Team Leader, Specialist Technical Services, you will: Work proactively and collaboratively within the Specialist Technical Services Team to provide high-quality technical support to the staff and students within the School of Arts and Humanities.
Ensure that the work environment and learning spaces are clean, functional, healthy and safe.
Liaise with staff and students to ensure safe and equitable access to facilities, equipment and materials as required.
Provide technical advice and instruction to students, and assist with demonstrating the use of various equipment, techniques, processes, materials, and skills related to the students' learning.
Develop, implement and maintain specialist technical documentation resources as required to support teaching and learning, facility and equipment maintenance, and safe work practices.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of services to the school and its staff through active participation in process review initiatives, planning activities, the sharing of relevant and applicable knowledge, professional development activities, and the training and mentoring of new staff.
Compliance with ECU policies and practices in all aspects of their work and conduct; and ensure the safety and wellbeing of themselves and others by complying with WH&S and EO requirements.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE Completion of a relevant tertiary qualification in screen production or broadcasting OR the equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.
Basic computer support skills and experience Has experience assembling, supporting and operating Virtual Production systems including LED Walls and their associated technologies in an industry setting.
Has relevant experience and expertise to meaningfully contribute to equipment planning and resourcing discussions.
At least two years' experience operating and supporting Digital Cinema Cameras and their associated equipment within an educational and industry setting.
Experience supporting and utilising multiple Non-Linear-Editing software packages in both educational and industry settings.
Experience designing postproduction workflows in both industry and educational settings Experience in postproduction supervision in both industry and educational settings – including the provision of deliverables such as DCP's for cinema screenings.
Relevant experience administering a NAS or 'Edit Server' in a screen or broadcast production context.
Experience developing technical instruction documentation as supporting resources for teaching and learning.
Experience providing in-class support and technical instruction across both broadcasting and screen production areas.
Experience as an on-set mentor within the technical disciplines of the Postgraduate Screen Production course.
A Class-C driver's license and experience driving and loading vans and light trucks.
Experience managing the safe loading and transportation of a range of complex screen production equipment.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL  The School of Arts and Humanities (SAH) is one of the largest at ECU with many diverse academic disciplines arranged into three main clusters: Creative Humanities; Psychology, Counselling, and Criminology; and Social Sciences, Social Work, and Youth Work.
The School operates across four campuses, with more than 100 academic and professional staff, and has a strong online education presence.

BENEFITS AND REMUNERATION This position provides a full-time salary of $81,614 to $90,691 p.a (HEW 5) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
