FIND are delighted to be leading the search for an Engineering Course Leader for Machining.The role is full time permanent and will play a crucial role in the success of the Engineering programme delivery and contribute to the overall growth and development of the department.Working from our clients state of the art facilities in the Southbank area of Leeds, this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a new, fresh and exciting chapter for one of the UK's biggest and most respected providers of Engineering education.Role SummaryTo act as a Course Leader for the Machining Engineering delivery programmes and to teach on a range of courses.
To help set up new courses and methods of curriculum delivery and to contribute to the overall growth and development of the department.Main Responsibilities Responsible for retention, achievement, progress/value added, attendance and positive progression rates for an identified course or courses.Maintain high quality and effective delivery across the course team.Develop new modules, units and course.Responsible for developing new units, modules and courses in line with government policy, awarding organisation developments and student demand as well as local community, economic and employer requirements.Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources and assessment plans and ensure these are in place for all the course(s) teaching activity.Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.Develop and adapt curriculum delivery with the course team to maximise its effectiveness and efficiency.Carry out internal verification/moderation.Essential experience requiredHolds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g.
Cert Ed, PGCE).Relevant vocational qualification or degree in Engineering.English and Maths at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above.Relevant experience, knowledge and skills to enable delivery of a range of levels across the curriculum, which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.Experience of positively managing student and group progression, advice and guidance in a school or Further Education setting.Substantial experience of undertaking internal verification and moderation activities.Ability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve their best.What's on offerGenerous pension scheme: Employees can join the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) which offers pension and tax lump sum benefits on retirement, as well as life assurance benefits with a generous employer contribution.Occupational sick pay: We have a generous sick pay scheme, offering employees up to 26 weeks at full pay, with a further 26 weeks at half pay, depending on how long they have worked with us.Annual leave entitlement: We offer an excellent annual leave entitlement plus up to five discretionary closure days at Christmas.Employee assistance programme: Through our employee assistance programme, staff can access free confidential advice and support via a 24/7 telephone helpline and structured telephonic and face-to-face counselling.Family-friendly policies: We offer flexible working opportunities to support the diverse needs of our workforce.Metro cards & Northern rail: Discounted travel cards for those who regularly use public transport across the region.Simple health: Through a cash plan, employees are able to access healthcare treatment and claim back money from their bills.
