Director, Operational Commissioning

Queensland's hospital system is facing greater demand and pressure than ever before.
This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care.
To help address this, the Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHS), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen.
The program includes building three new hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds in the next five years.
In addition, the intent is for this to be the first tranche of a 15-year program of infrastructure investments.

We're seeking an enthusiastic individual with experience in leading operational commissioning in a health setting.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude and strong communication skills to build relationships with stakeholders across the service.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Operational Commissioning & Furniture Fixtures Equipment (FFE), you will be responsible for leading and managing the Operational Commissioning team within HIQ, working collaboratively with key stakeholders to build consistent and effective operational commissioning tools, templates and practices.
You will take a proactive approach to engaging with system-wide stakeholders and building positive connected partnerships to ensure best practice planning and quality improvement frameworks are in place.

About you The Director, Operational Commissioning must have experience in leading operational commissioning activities to support a health facility go live.
The other essential requirements for the role include:
Demonstrated leadership in managing a cohesive project team and building effective partnerships with external stakeholders and advisers.
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of program and project management processes.
Demonstrated broad knowledge and perspective, anticipating future consequences and trends accurately.
Highly developed interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills at a senior level, and achievements in cultivating productive working relationships and partnerships.
Demonstrated experience in communicating and sharing a compelling vision and sense of purpose for the team, the unit and the organisation.
A leadership style that values employee engagement and promotes and champions effective communication.
