About the role Eastern Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing Program has developed a Brief Intervention Team (BIT) which incorporates a suicide prevention stream (Hospital Outreach Post-suicide attempt Engagement - HOPE).
BIT sees people who appear to be experiencing mental ill health or psychological distress which may include thoughts of suicide/experienced a suicide attempt; who require a brief period (up to 90 days) of assessment, recovery-focused planning, therapy and specialist clinical mental health support.
The role requires an experienced and highly skilled Nurse Practitioner, experienced in working with people in suicide prevention and mental health and wellbeing services.
The role incorporates offering Solution Focused Brief Therapy during the person's time with the team.
About you To be successful in this role you will possess: Current Nurse Practitioner (Mental Health) registration with AHPRA Master of Nurse Practitioner Extensive experience in community mental health and wellbeing practice.
Have a strong background in psychotherapeutic work in public mental health.
A strong commitment to high quality care The ability to work as part of a diverse team Training and experience in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, highly desirable.
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice).
Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
