Director Communication and Engagement, Temporary, Sydney This is a parental leave cover for up to 16-months.
This role is at the Senior Executive Band 1 level, with a total remuneration package starting at $223,417 (including superannuation), commensurate with experience.

About the Role The Director of Communication and Engagement is at the forefront of shaping the credibility and reputation of our Projects NSW division.
In this dynamic role, you will lead our Communications and Stakeholder Engagement team, drive strategic planning, make high-level decisions, and develop and execute impactful media, communications and stakeholder engagement strategies.

As a trusted advisor to the Head of Projects NSW, CEO, and Ministerial Officers, you will provide expert insights on key communication initiatives and strategies.
Your leadership will be instrumental in guiding communication and stakeholder engagement efforts, ensuring the success of both current and future projects delivered by Projects NSW.

Additionally, you will play a crucial role in upholding the credibility and reputation of Infrastructure NSW's Co-ordinator General position, particularly in relation to the exciting developments at the Western Sydney Aerotropolis.

Some of the key accountabilities for the role include:
Leading the development and management of a range of communications projects, initiatives and strategies to support an effective Projects NSW communications function that promotes a clear understanding of INSW projects, and ensures public buy-in and support for projects.
Building and maintaining relationships, in partnership with the Head of Projects NSW, with key stakeholders including various Ministerial Offices as they relate to the PNSW portfolio.
Identifying and managing emerging and sensitive issues proactively and provide strategic and operational advice to the Head of Projects NSW, CEO, Executive Director Corporate Services, and other Senior Executives to support the effective management of internal and external communications issues for Projects NSW and Co-ordinator General.
Developing and maintaining a communications framework for Projects NSW that is aligned with the broader INSW Communications Framework, including internal and external communications across a range of channels to drive consistency of messaging and information and to promote PNSW initiatives and progress and to ensure communications materials are consistent with Government and organisational requirements.
About You This role requires strong experience or knowledge of communications in government at a senior level, including a solid understanding of the political, policy, and media issues affecting Infrastructure NSW.
The ideal candidate will have a background in delivering communications within a construction or infrastructure project environment, complemented by impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
Significant experience in stakeholder management across various levels is essential, along with the ability to influence best practices for leveraging strategic relationships.
Appropriate tertiary qualifications or equivalent demonstrated experience are also required.
Travel to project sites across Sydney will be required from time to time.
