The Engagement Director role is a leadership position within the Eastern NSW (ENSW) region.
The Director is the champion of the ENSW Leadership Team and a member of the Eastern Group Leadership Team.
The Engagement Director has leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision-making responsibilities.
The role also has people and stakeholder management responsibilities.
The Engagement Director manages employees and takes overall responsibility for their performance and contribution to ENSW results.
The role builds a range of strong internal and external stakeholder relationships and networks.
The Engagement Director has overall accountability for the delivery of the Greater Sydney work program and is expected to apply the following:
Provide strategic direction and leverage expertise to ensure quality outcomes are delivered across the program outputs.
Foster inclusive teamwork and encourage wider collaboration and information sharing to achieve results for the ENSW region and broader NIAA objectives.
Deliver specialist expertise across a broad range of activities including community engagement, customer service delivery, policy development and culture.
Promote a healthy and safe workplace environment, and model ethical behaviour in accordance with the APS Code of Conduct and APS Values.
Build, maintain and influence effective strategic partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders including Indigenous peoples, community partners, business and organisations.
Engage and manage stakeholder expectations of the NIAA work program, priorities and program change, giving particular consideration to local and cultural sensitivities and stakeholder business imperatives.

You will require sound judgement, professionalism and have the capacity to work flexibly and responsively to achieve results.
Commitment to building a collective sense of purpose and direction to support the NIAA's vision and to stay attuned to the broader strategic environment across government.
Ability to support the development, coaching and mentoring of staff and identify and foster emerging talent.
Support budget, business, risk and quality assurance planning processes using the appropriate NIAA frameworks.
Anticipate and establish priorities and monitor the overall work program to deliver corporate outcomes, specific NIAA functions or programs.
Assume responsibility for the delivery of complex or sensitive projects or work programs that have strategic, political and/or operational significance.
Provide high-level quality and integrity of the program - focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the program, and outwardly on its coherence with other programs and organisational objectives.
Monitor regional risk plans, identifying strategic changes that may impact on risk management and mitigation activities.
Work with key stakeholders to ensure risk mitigation activities do not adversely affect their own work programs.
Communicate and make decisions that may have significant impact on the day-to-day operation of the branch and other parts of the Agency; and/or a direct and significant impact on the outcome of a program or major project for the Agency.

To be eligible for this position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The occupant must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected) level security clearance, or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level.
