Kennedys is seeking a highly motivated Associate with 2-5 years' PQE to join our Liability team based in either our growing Melbourne or Perth office.
Working closely with our esteemed Managing Partner, Jonathan Wyatt & Partner, Peter Craney, this is an unique opportunity for a enthusiastic Associate to gain hands-on exposure to shipping, marine, property and aviation matters across the liability/insurance practice.

You will join team of highly experienced Special Counsel, Senior Associates & fellow Associates whilst receiving first-class support from our dedicated Paralegals and Legal Secretaries - enabling you to thrive in the fast-paced world of insurance litigation.
CLIENTS & MATTERS:Peter advises on coverage disputes, acts as defence counsel, pursues subrogated recoveries and provides advice on insurance product development.
His practice extends to include commercial and shipping advisory and transaction work, litigation and arbitration.
Peter regularly acts for Australian, Lloyd's, London and overseas market (re)insurers, shipping and transport companies, major airlines, and construction companies.
Jonathan acts for international and domestic insurers, mutuals, local governments, commodity exporters, ship owners, and freight forwarders.
Jonathan is qualified in Australia, Hong Kong and England & Wales.
He has wide international experience and has handled cases in the English and Hong Kong courts, as well as in the High Court of Australia, Federal Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of WA.
He has also handled arbitrations in Australia, London, Singapore, Hong Kong and China.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:We are looking for a strong litigator with 2-5 years' PQE in liability or general insurance with either a background, or genuine interest, in marine, aviation, transportation or property damage filesYou will possess excellent communication skills - both written and verbalDemonstrate the proven ability to manage your own time with excellent organisation skills and strong attention to detailHigh level of professionalism and integrity; displaying the highest standard of professional ethicsFlexible attitude towards working practices and ability to adapt style as requiredA natural team player ready to assist and support colleagues where necessarySelf-motivated and enthusiastic with a genuine desire to further your career at KennedysPlease let us know if you require any additional support or adjustments to be made in order to submit your application to Kennedys.
