A Family and Marriage Counsellor at Campbellfield Mosque plays an essential role in supporting individuals, couples, and families within the community.
Their mission is to resolve conflicts, strengthen relationships, and foster emotional well-being while adhering to Islamic values.
Through faith-sensitive counselling, they focus on improving communication, addressing relational challenges, and providing tailored therapeutic interventions rooted in evidence-based practices and Islamic principles.
Key Responsibilities: Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify clients' emotional, mental, and relational challenges.Therapeutic Intervention: Provide individual, couple, and family therapy sessions using diverse therapeutic techniques to address issues such as communication breakdowns, conflict resolution, and emotional disorders.Treatment Planning: Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligned with clients' unique needs and goals.Crisis Intervention: Deliver immediate support during emotional or relational crises to stabilize situations effectively.Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure holistic care.Education and Advocacy: Educate clients on coping strategies, relationship skills, and mental health awareness while advocating for their needs within the community.Cultural Sensitivity: Provide counselling services that are both culturally and spiritually sensitive, recognizing the unique dynamics of the Muslim community.Language Support: Communicate fluently in Turkish and English to ensure clarity and cultural relevance during counselling sessions.Qualifications and Skills: Educational Requirements: A bachelor's degree in counselling or psychology is required; a Bachelors degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counselling, or Psychology is preferred.Licensure: State licensure or certification as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is mandatory.Clinical Experience: Completion of supervised clinical experience as per state regulations.Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication, empathy, and problem-solving abilities are essential.Cultural Competence: Strong understanding of Islamic values and cultural traditions to address the unique needs of the Muslim community.Language Proficiency: Fluency in both Turkish and English is required to effectively connect with and support clients.Work Environment: Family and Marriage Counsellors at Campbellfield Mosque work in dedicated counselling spaces within the mosque, collaborate with local mental health services, and offer teletherapy sessions to ensure accessibility for all community members.
Professional Development: Continuous professional growth is essential.
Counsellors are expected to stay current with research, therapeutic methodologies, and ethical standards through ongoing education and training, all while maintaining strict adherence to Islamic ethical principles.
Impact and Contribution: This role serves as a cornerstone for building stronger, healthier families within the Campbellfield Mosque community, addressing emotional, spiritual, and relational well-being.

Pay: $95,000.00 – $108,000.00 per year
