GrasSports Australia provides our customers with expert design, project management and construction of synthetic sports surfaces; from single backyard tennis courts to international FIFA certified soccer complexes.

We focus not only on delivering a quality finished surface that meets the needs of each customer (its performance, playability and appearance), we also ensure the subsurface is properly prepared and constructed.
A solid foundation and base may cost a little more to create, but we firmly believe it minimises the lifetime costs of our customer's investment.
And we do all this while focusing on delivering an enjoyable customer experience from the time we receive an enquiry, through to and beyond project handover.
Role Overview
The role of the Senior Estimator is one of the most important roles in the GrasSports business.
An essential aspect of the role is to successfully submit tenders for construction work and to assist other members of the team to do the same.
The role requires accuracy, attention to detail and an ability to develop and work with systems and procedures.
It requires a keen appreciation of the commercial nuances of tender submissions (to ensure work won is profitable) and an ability to transfer such knowledge to less experienced staff.
It also requires an ability to be flexible, juggling the priorities of all GrasSports' estimators.
Flexibility to respond to the often urgent needs of clients is critical, as is an ability to work to multiple deadlines.
The role requires quality communication skills when dealing with both potential and existing clients and also GrasSports' Contracts Administrators, Estimating staff and other staff responsible for different aspects of the GrasSports business.
The role of Senior Estimator at GrasSports involves taking full responsibility for the end to end life of all Grassports construction tenders, from estimating the costs for construction tender opportunities to handover of the cost estimates to the Contract Administrators who will deliver the projects.
Your Primary Responsibilities
Manage GrasSports' entire tendering and estimating process, including an accurate current Schedule of Rates price book.
Continually review supplier pricing to ensure GrasSports is receiving the desired quality of materials and quality of service at the lowest possible price.
Produce Quotes and Scopes of Works, for each prospective tender (and all requested variations) in an accurate and timely manner.
Accurately estimate all costs for each tender (and variation), including:
labour,
materials,
programme schedule, and
subcontractor costs.
Provide supplier quotes for the project to CA &/or Foreman.

To be successful in obtaining this role, your attitude and willingness to learn will be more valuable than previous experience in a similar role.
But, it is essential that you have the following:
Tertiary qualifications in Estimation, Engineering, Contract Administration, Construction Management, Project Management or similar.
Previous experience with Estimating software.
Previous experience as a Senior Estimator in a civil construction or landscaping business.
Previous experience compiling tender estimates.
Previous experience scheduling and coordinating multiple projects to deadlines.
It would also be advantageous if you happen to have:
Previous exposure to the synthetic sports field industry.
A solid understanding of construction techniques and practices.
Preparing CAD drawings experience.
Experience using Benchmark Estimating software.
A good sense of humour coupled with a great work ethic to get the job done.
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
Quality communication skills, both written and verbal, and confidence liaising with a wide range of project stakeholders.
Excellent computer literacy, notably Workbench software.
Good problem solving, investigative and conflict resolution skills.
