About the RoleThe position delivers advanced Speech Pathology services to stakeholders/consumers within the Geriatric and Rehabilitation Unit team and specialised outpatients (GARU), Princess Alexandra Hospital to achieve excellence in patient care, education, and research.
This includes implementing and monitoring operational activities and leading professional governance activities for a team of Speech Pathologists, Speech Pathology Clinical Assistants and Speech Pathology Trainees in the GARU Speech Pathology Team.
Deliver specialised Speech Pathology clinical and consultancy services to the Geriatric and Rehabilitation Unit and specialised outpatients (GARU) Princess Alexandra Hospital in accordance with accepted professional practices, legal and ethical requirements with a high degree of independence.Apply advanced level independent professional judgment regarding the assessment and treatment planning of complex patients.Demonstrate high-level clinical leadership and mentoring support to problem solve urgent and emergent complex clinical issues.Our values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Engagement and Excellence shape our culture within Metro South Health.
