The role
We're looking for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join our fast-growing Competition & Consumer practice in Melbourne.
This is an exciting opportunity to be second-in-command to Alistair Newton, who heads up the team. Alistair is a competition and consumer specialist with deep experience in high-profile transactional, litigious and advisory matters for clients across a range of industries, including the agribusiness, digital, media, FMCG, health and manufacturing sectors.
The team works hand-in-hand with a similarly fast-growing national corporate practice to obtain merger clearance for significant transactions, and advises on the full range of competition law (joint ventures, exclusive distribution arrangements, cartel conduct, misuse of market power) and Australian Consumer Law (misleading or deceptive conduct, unconscionable conduct, unfair contract terms) matters.
We're looking for someone :
With 4+ years' post-admission experience, ideally in a private practice environment;
Who has strong competition and consumer law experience;
With excellent drafting experience;
Who wants a fantastic team culture;
With an entrepreneurial and innovative mind-set.
