Vegies Unlimited has been established for over 30 years, specialising in fruit & vegetables. We supply local and regional produce to the Mackay and surrounding community. We support other local businesses and employ local staff, contributing to a resilient local community. We have a retail outlet serving the general public and a wholesale depot where we pack orders for customers such as restaurants, cafes, hotels, aged care facilities, hospitals and accommodation camps.You will have the opportunity to promote healthy eating and become a critical link in a supply chain that feeds thousands of people.Skill development is encouraged. You will have the opportunity to be trained in the following areas:Administrative and business procedures and managementStaff supervisionFood safetyQuality controlFruit & Vegetable handling and packingRole description includes but is not limited to:Front counter receptionTaking customer ordersInvoicingCash handling, including banking and reconciliationStaff supervisionGeneral office administrationSelection criteria:A positive attitude to workAbility to multi-taskReliable team playerAbility to work unsupervisedSkills required:Above average computer skills (Excel, Word, email)Ability to work as part of a teamWillingness to assist in different sections of the business when requiredKnowledge of the fruit and vegetable industry or ability to quickly acquire this knowledgeAbility to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environmentOther skills which would be an advantage include:MYOB and payroll experienceManagement of accounts payable and receivableHospitality and/or Retail experienceAdministration experience in an office attached to a warehouseHours of work and remuneration:This position is casual with the opportunity to move to full-time.The wholesale depot and office operates 6 days per week.Early starts are required.Your package can include above award wages and/or bonus systems.An immediate start is on offer if you would like to become a valued member of Vegies Unlimited's team and fulfil a challenging and rewarding role.Send your resume and cover letter to:or drop it into our retail shop at 303 Nebo Road, Mackay or to our office at 5 Woodman Parade, Mackay.
