Job Description Summary12-month fixed term contract working with a well-established Environmental Management Team under the Engineering Portfolio within ConnectSydney.
About the RoleConnectSydney, a joint venture of ServiceStream, Boral, and Johnson Controls, in partnership with Transport for NSW, is entrusted with the management of the Harbour Zone. Our responsibilities encompass routine maintenance, strategic enhancements, and specialised projects aimed at bolstering Sydney's transport infrastructure.

We have an opportunity available for a talented, motivated, and driven individual to join us as an Environment Advisor. You will form part of a well-established Environmental Management Team under the Engineering Portfolio within ConnectSydney. The position will be based out of our office in Rockdale, NSW, and be offered as a 12-month fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities Preparation of Environmental Assessment documentation to support the delivery of construction and maintenance works.Provision of environmental advice and support to various Business Portfolios.Liaison and interface with the TfNSW Environmental staff, specialist consultants, and other government agencies regarding compliance and assessment documentation.Development of Environmental Work Method Statements in conjunction with Project Engineers and Site Supervisors.Assistance in the development of Construction Environmental Management Plans.Conduct environmental monitoring activities to facilitate environmental safeguards for construction and maintenance works.Raising incidents and managing nonconformances where required.Carrying out incident investigations where required.Active participation in environmental risk management needs for various Projects.Assistance in the preparation of monthly Environment reports.Delivery of environmental topics as part of toolbox talks and pre-work briefings.Participation and assistance in compliance audit activities.About You Our ideal candidate will have:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, or Environmental Management.Experience as an Environmental Advisor or similar role including an understanding of the construction industry.Minimum of 2 years experience in a role working in preparing and assessing Environmental Assessments.Proven experience working with Transport for New South Wales Environmental team is desirable.A working understanding of AS/NZS ISO14001 and its requirements is desirable.Proven experience working with Project Engineers and Supervisors within a construction or operational industry environment is desirable.Working understanding of TfNSW Specification G36 is desirable.Experience and/or knowledge of the civil construction projects industry is desirable.How To Apply Please submit your interest with the apply button where you will be directed to create a profile on our system.
