Start your journey with our exclusive 12-month immersive trainee and apprentice program then a further 18-month traineeship designed to unlock your potential (total 30 months).
This will be your foundation as we continue to support you in achieving your qualification and empower you to shape your future.
This training is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through its Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative.

Commencing in March 2025, our program provides professional development training and on-the-job experience pathways, designed to help become qualified in your chosen career.
As a trainee and apprentice of the City, you will have many opportunities available to you:

In the role of Trainee Project Officer (Construction), you will form part of a team that delivers high-quality construction and infrastructure projects.
This is a unique role that will provide hands-on experience in project support and civil construction inspection.
You will contribute to the development of our city's infrastructure by supporting projects from inception to completion.

Working collaboratively with our long-term partners that complete design, engineering and construction phases of our projects.
Learn about the early planning, design and commissioning of works to ensure constructability.
Providing regular updates relating to the progress of capital works projects, production rates, and daily status reports.
Follow procedures and work practices covering the various aspects of projects.
Assisting with administration of civil and engineering contracts.
Promoting safety within the workplace as well as maintaining a positive work attitude amongst crews.
Prepare project documentation, including plans, specifications, and reports.
Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and construction standards.

Team players who positively contribute and embraces change Highly motivated and proactive problem solvers who can manage their time effectively A self-starter eager to learn about civil construction and investigations An engaging individual who will enjoy working in office and out on site Good communicators with basic language, literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to effectively communicate, understand and follow instructions in a high-risk environment Successful completion of Year 12 Applicants must have full working rights in Australia for the duration of the qualification and be able to work full-time.
