Consulting & Generalist HR (Human Resources & Recruitment) Chambers Russell Lawyers is a fast-growing commercial law firm that has been providing legal services across its key practice areas in construction, litigation, strata title and compensation law for over a decade.
Our head office is in Sydney's Martin Place, and the firm is fast growing its practice across our offices in Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
About the Role As the Head of People and Culture, you will take the lead in helping us build a high-performing, engaged, and values-driven team.
Reporting to the firm's Chief Operations Officer, and with critical interactions across the firm's partner and leadership group, you will lead all aspects of human resources and organisational development, while fostering a culture in line with the firm's values of integrity, humility, zeal, growth, collaboration, and excellence.
This permanent full-time position is a unique opportunity for an accomplished and motivated HR professional to take the lead in building a comprehensive human resources framework for future growth, and then implementing the necessary programs to ensure the firm's ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement people and organisation strategies that enable our business goals, enhance employee engagement, support our growth and innovation agenda, and live up to our values.Change Management: Lead organisational change initiatives, guiding the company through periods of transformation and ensuring a smooth transition for employees.HR Policy: Maintain and evolve human resources policies across the business, arising from an in-depth knowledge of best practices, labour laws and compliance requirements.Talent Recruitment & Management: Lead the recruitment, retention and development of top talent, ensuring the right people are in the right roles to drive success.Cultural Stewardship: Champion our core values and nurture an inclusive, diverse, collaborative culture that supports employee wellbeing, productivity and a positive work environment.Employee Engagement: Design and execute the Employee Value Proposition, and programs that foster a strong employee experience, including initiatives related to recognition, career development, and employee feedback.Performance, Learning and Development: Ensure high levels of performance are maintained and managed; create and implement learning programs that encourage continuous growth, leadership development, and skill enhancement.HR Operations: Oversee human resource functions including performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.Qualifications: 10+ years' experience in Human Resources roles.Proven experience in a senior 360-degree HR leadership role, ideally within a growth organisation.Strong background in people strategy, organisational development, and culture-building.In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labour laws, and compliance regulations.Experience in change-management and navigating periods of organisational growth or transformation.Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels, up to and including the firm's leadership and partners.Strong process and systems-oriented mindset.A strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a track record of delivering measurable results.Relevant qualifications in HR, psychology or equivalent experience is essential.This is a rare opportunity to join a high performing firm and make your mark by establishing and enabling our HR framework for future growth over the next 5 to 10 years, as part of a highly motivated team with a people-first culture.
