With a culturally diverse campus life and extensive international exchange and research programs, UTS prepares graduates for the workplaces of today and tomorrow.About the RoleThe Research Grants Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of Category 1 grant submissions, including the coordination and communication of submission processes, resource planning and reporting relating to submissions and outcomes.
The Research Grants Coordinator will partner with staff within the Research Office (RO), Faculty Research Offices, researchers and their collaborators to manage the submission of high- quality and competitive research grant and fellowship proposals to contribute to the development of a culture of research excellence at UTS.If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:• In collaboration with various stakeholders, and having regard for external funding body requirements, plan and implement major grant round internal due dates and processes/requirements and ensure that they are met.• Coordinate the overall process of grant submissions to ARC funding schemes and various other research grant funding bodies, including coordinating the allocation of staff and resources (including casuals), communication with relevant stakeholders, and provide overall support for the pre-award administration of major grant rounds.• Develop (and maintain) grant scheme resources, including web pages, Sharepoint pages, MS Teams sites, and application templates to assist researchers in preparing high-quality, competitive, compliant grant proposals that meet scheme deadlines.• Identify, develop and implement improvements to the administrative processes which support external and internal research funding schemes.• Keep up to date with upcoming announcements and promptly report on grant opportunities and/or outcomes to the RO or Executive team Build and maintain effective relationships and collaborations with key internal and external stakeholders – academic and professional staff.• Perform work activities relevant to the role's key accountabilities or other work responsibilities as requested by Manager, Deputy Director, or Director as commensurate to the role classification level.With examples, please outline within your Cover Letter, how you meet the following key selection criteria: • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.• Demonstrated organisational and project management skills to effectively manage competing priorities to meet strict deadlines.• Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated capacity to work effectively with people at all levels both within and external to an organization, including demonstrated ability in negotiating and influencing outcomes.• Demonstrated excellence in problem resolution, client service delivery and strong commitment to continuous improvement.• Understanding of the Australian Competitive Research Grant environment, with particular emphasis on ARC and NHMRC grant schemes.• Experience in submission of research grant applications including ARC and NHMRC;Remuneration & BenefitsBase Salary Range: $104,251 to $115,327 pa (HEW 7)This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.UTS staff also benefit from a wide range of Employee Benefits include flexible work practices, childcare centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.This position is full-time, and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.How To ApplyFor the full list of the selection criteria and role responsibilities please click the apply link and download the Position Description from the link below.Along with your resume, you are required to address the selection criteria listed above within your cover letter.
