PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: This position contributes to the operational effectiveness of Water Services by supporting the development and use of Power and Water's Geographical Information System (GIS) with a specific focus on the management of spatial data related to water and sewerage assets.
Power and Water currently use the ESRI GIS suite of products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the integrity, quality and completeness of all water and sewerage spatial data across major and minor urban centres and remote communities, within Power and Water's ESRI GIS.Provide data collation, geospatial analysis, mapping and cartography services that support asset management functions and data driven decision-making processes including:Performing spatial analysis utilising ArcGIS, FME and associated analysis modules.Creation and maintenance of structures necessary for GIS data storage.Developing tools for loading/transferring GIS data between different formats.Produce quality drawings, maps, images and diagrams for the planning, asset management, design and construction, operation and maintenance functional areas of Water Services.Create and update existing GIS mobility applications using ESRI Mobile suite.Leadership: Builds relationships and encourages collaboration.Accountable and holds others accountable for meeting commitments.Uses different techniques to communicate to audiences.Helps promote change and is prepared to take on new challenges.Safety and Environment: Take all practicable steps to secure your own safety, the safety of PWC staff and contractors, the public and their property.Demonstrate a proactive approach to safety through field audits, risk assessments and hazard management strategies.Contribute to timely and accurate investigations as part of an ICAM team.Seek to reduce the environmental impact of the organisation through compliance with legislative, regulatory and licence requirements.Customer: Maintain and promote a high standard of customer service including timely and sensitive responses to customer complaints, enquiries and cross cultural issues.Quality: Support a continuous improvement culture, developing and reviewing processes and procedures to maintain currency to relevant legislative, regulatory and other work requirements.Project Management: Support the development of business cases and procurement of services in accordance with the strategic needs of Water Services.Provide input to scope, budgets, cashflows and resource requirements as necessary to support successful delivery.LAST UPDATED: April 2023
