Our mission is to accelerate the development and adoption of quantum technology by fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and building a thriving quantum ecosystem.
The organisation brings together Australia's quantum leaders across industry, academia and the startup ecosystem to fundamentally shift the dial on the translation of quantum technologies and position Australia as a leader in the market.
Administered by the University of Sydney over an initial 3-year period, Quantum Australia is supported by a $18.4M grant from the Department of Industry, Science and Resources, with significant additional financial support from state governments and university partners.
A central team will be based in Sydney to support state and territory-based teams Nodes in NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, and the ACT.
These Nodes will reside within the other Quantum Australia's partner universities.
About the opportunity As the Manager, Partnership Development (NSW) you will drive the translation of quantum research into solutions for businesses.
This includes helping secure R&D partnerships and facilitate knowledge exchange between the University and industry, playing a crucial role in accelerating the development and adoption of quantum technology.
Working within a greenfield industry, this role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of Quantum Australia in NSW and national by providing recommendations for future business models and opportunities for growth within the Quantum industry in Australia .
Your key responsibilities will be to: collaborate closely with the Partnership Development Lead within the VIC node and other Partnership Development roles across the other parts of Australia fostering a community of practice foster relationships in Resources, Agriculture, Transport, Defence, Financial, Medical, Advanced Technologies, and Energy sectors identify new opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and visibility between industry and universities secure industry and government partnerships with the NSW-located partner universities of Quantum Australia provide visibility around pipeline development, bringing attention to opportunities for growth and obstacles, and make recommendations for improving strategies provide strategic support and advice to the NSW Node Lead and the Quantum Australia CEO on partnership strategies About you experience working within the emerging technologies (particularly defence, cybersecurity, manufacturing, or agriculture) and/or higher education sector demonstrated ability to foster and leverage meaningful relationships with industry and/or government to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes, particularly in a business development capacity an interest in and passion for emerging technologies experience drafting proposals and developing agreements will be highly regarded conceptual, analytical and report writing skills related to partnership development knowledge of the processes and frameworks for developing and managing strong academic partnership programs.
