Marriott International is seeking 3 Market Account Directors for the Corporate Segment to grow top-line segment revenue by ensuring that profitable sales are generated for the hotels represented.
The Account Directors will work closely with Hotel leaders in the Marriott Sales Organisation on joint account plans, customer events, tradeshows, operational & training support and initiatives that impact all brands.

This role is work from anywhere but must be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, or Perth.

BUSINESS CONTEXT
The Market Account Director is responsible for providing total account management for a portfolio of high value complex accounts to increase Marriott's preference, loyalty, and profitable share.
By applying the principles of strategic account management and team-based selling, this position provides overall leadership and direction in the development of business-to-business strategies to build long-term, value-based relationships between the Marriott International hotels and the managed portfolio of corporate accounts.
The Market Account Director will develop solid and extensive relationships with key buyers to map all revenue streams to grow share and drive superior business results.

Supporting Developing & Executing Sales Strategies
Works with sales leaders to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for the segment.
Works with on-property sales leaders to create and implement a sales plan addressing revenue, customers, and the market for the managed account portfolio.
Assists with the development and implementation of promotions, both internal and external.
Provides positive leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential.
Exceptional networking and prospecting skills.
Gathers and analyzes information from various sources; probes for underlying causes; considers alternative solutions before making decisions; advances problems toward resolution when encountering ambiguity or uncertainty; makes sound decisions in a timely manner.
Approaches problems with open-mindedness, generates innovative ideas and solutions, and stimulates creativity and innovation in others.
Develops and maintains effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, actively engaging the right stakeholders from other disciplines and the market to refine account offerings.
Strong organizational navigation acumen – cross-discipline understanding and ability to mobilize organizational resources to achieve superior business results.
Brings a global perspective to ideas and solutions, knowledgeable about MI brands, sales and marketing strategies, and service offerings.
Ability to balance creative solution-development with pragmatic business considerations.
Participates in sales calls with members of the sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
Analyzes market information using sales systems and implements strategy to achieve property's topline room and catering goals.
Reviews sales and catering guest satisfaction results to identify areas of improvement.
Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
Executes exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.
Serves the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services that best meet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building a relationship and loyalty to the company.
Gains understanding of the property's primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, issues, and concerns to offer better business solutions both prior to and during the program/event.
Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
Building Successful Relationships
Develops and manages relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels (e.g., Event Booking Center, Market Sales, GSO) to ensure the property needs are being achieved and the sales efforts are complementary, not duplicative.
Attends customer events, trade shows, and sales missions to maintain, build, or develop key relationships with GSO Managers and customers.
Utilizes all available on-the-job training tools for employees.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Preferred
5+ years of sales experience, preferably in corporate hotels/brands and/or Global Sales Organisations.
Knowledge in multiple segments preferred.
Experience with multiple stakeholders preferred.
Has validated experience – recognized as an expert in specific business segment(s), functional area(s), and/or geographical area(s).
Excellent professional relationships with the main influencers within their area of expertise.
