Moreover, this is your chance to be part of the success story.Position Summary:Cognizant has an exciting opportunity for a talented and collaborative Senior Consultant. In this role, you will lead the design of data models and contribute to the design and development of a foundational data platform for a greenfield project. As a Senior Consultant, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, architects, and business analysts, to develop scalable data models that drive business analytics and reporting capabilities. This position requires deep expertise in data modelling, data platform architecture, integration, and governance, ensuring the platform's quality, security, and scalability.Mandatory Skills:Expertise in designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models, utilizing techniques such as Kimball dimensional modelling.Proficiency in designing and implementing scalable data models within robust platform architectures.Hands-on experience with data technologies like Apache Spark, dbt (data build tool), stored procedures, and Azure Data Factory for seamless data integration and transformation.Strong knowledge of data governance strategies to maintain data quality, consistency, and security across platforms.Advanced SQL skills for complex querying, data analysis, and integration across diverse systems.Experience with Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Docker for automating deployment and ensuring efficient operations.Proficiency in Python and shell scripting for process automation and scripting tasks.Experience in event-driven architectures and job orchestration for managing and automating complex workflows.Duties and Responsibilities:Develop efficient, scalable data models that align with business requirements and performance objectives.Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure data models meet business and analytical needs.Document data models, data mappings, and detailed designs to support clear communication and future reference.Create comprehensive design documentation and best practice guidelines to promote consistency and standardization across the data platform.Optimize data models and ETL processes to enhance performance and reduce latency in data operations.Design, build, and manage ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, PySpark, and stored procedures for seamless data transformation and loading.Implement and maintain data governance practices to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with security standards.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, ensuring compliance with technical standards and maintaining high-quality outputs.Participate in workshops to gather requirements and insights from stakeholders. Support discovery sessions to identify opportunities and challenges.Assist in translating these findings into innovative designs and actionable implementation plans to enhance the new data platform's functionality and user experience.Build alerting and monitoring capabilities on the data platform.Provide ongoing support for the data platform, troubleshooting issues and ensuring continuous data availability and reliability.Salary Range: $100,000Date of posting: 29/10/2024Next Steps: If you feel this opportunity suits you, or Cognizant is the type of organization you would like to join, we want to have a conversation with you Please apply directly with us.
