This job offer is not available in your country.Work type : Full TimeAbout usDefence Housing Australia (DHA) is a Nationally Recognised Government Business Enterprise with the primary role of providing housing and related services to Defence and their families.DHA manages one of Australia's largest national housing portfolios of about 17,000 properties and has an opportunity for an experienced Technical Construction Officer to join the team.About your teamAs part of the Service Delivery team, Property function, you will help your broader team meet their delivery objectives for high quality housing services, including provisioning, maintenance services, stock management, housing allocation and living-in accommodation booking services.The Property function is responsible for the delivery of developments, construction, acquisitions, sales, upgrades and heritage programs.As a member of the Technical, Heritage, Upgrades & Defects (THUD) Team, you will provide technical support to the Property function and other DHA staff.About the roleAs a Technical Construction Officer, you will provide expertise and technical knowledge in locations around Australia to Project Managers on residential construction, upgrade and heritage projects, as well as support acquisition and leasing provisioning programs.You will also be responsible for providing your expertise and knowledge with managing builder's defects and provide specialised advice to DHA Regional Office staff to assist with complex building maintenance issues.This role will be responsible for :Managing, coordinating and reporting on works completed by contractors including quality assurance, accuracy against scopes and in a timely fashionProviding a high level of specialist technical advice and assistance with complex building maintenance issues to various stakeholdersConducting property inspections to identify and quantify issues, risks and defectsBenefits for working at DHA include :15.4% superannuationGenerous leave entitlements, including 18 days personal leave and 20 days annual leave per yearWork-life balancePositive workplace culture where you can bring your whole self to workOpportunities for growth and developmentCareer progression and opportunitiesADF partner employment conditions when posting to a new locationNote : All successful applicants are required to hold a valid Driver Licence and be eligible to complete a Baseline Vetting security clearance for consideration of the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA).How to applyTo apply, click the Apply Now button below with your current resume and a 500-word one-page pitch, addressing the requirements of the role.Any questions?
