Located offshore out of Port Douglas
Starting salary: $29.68-$32.69 plus superannuation
About the role Applications are being sought for an Offshore Deckhand position on our pontoon maintenance vessel out of Port Douglas.
This is a rotating roster of 4 days on, 2 days off.
The role requires three nights away living on our offshore vessel on The Great Barrier Reef.
Reporting to the Marine Operations Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
Daily preparation and ongoing maintenance of the offshore maintenance vessel, pontoon, small craft and offshore equipmentOperation of small craft and semi-submersible coralviewersDelivery of reef interpretive commentaryProviding a high level of customer service to our guestsEnsuring customer and staff safety is maintained at all timesSafely handling ropes, lines and fendersAssisting other crewmembers as requiredAbout you Applicants require a minimum qualification of: Coxswains NC1Master 5 (desirable)Other requirements: Provide First Aid certificationCompetency in rope handling and docking of vesselsAbility to effectively communicate and work well in a small team environmentA dive qualification would be an advantageBenefits Stability in a long-established business proud of their inclusive culture and working environmentDiscounted boat tours and cruises for your family and friendsDiscounted diving tours in Cairns and Port DouglasCorporate discounts on private healthAccess to the Quicksilver Group Scholarship program for your children going to UniversityA wide range of special discounts with our industry partners and goods suppliersMeet people from all over the world coming to the Reef for their once-in-a-lifetime visit to one of the greatest World Heritage sites.
